A very nice race meeting to start Grand Final weekend. The Champagne Stakes race 4 looks a race for the Blue Diamond winner in Miracles of Life. Should be a exhibition gallop for this horse. Thump is the only danger and I can't see a danger.

We have the Stutt Stakes, the JRA Cup and the Moir Stakes to round off the night. Plenty of Group Racing.

I am very interested in the Moir Stakes expecting Buffering to start favourite but I believe Snitzerland has Buffering's measure first up at the very good odds of $4.60 and I expect Snitzerland to win comfortably from Buffering, Bel Sprinter, Epaulette and Moment of Change. It should be a ripper race.

Best of the night is MR8/9 Snitzerland and MR4/1 Miracles of Life.

On Saturday we will cover Rosehill, Morphetville Parks, Belmont and Eagle Farm. On Monday we will cover the Caulfield meeting. Good luck and enjoy the GF.

Week two of our trial and it produced 3 winners with a $9 winner in the last race.

A good day for winners at a strike rate of 31% was great especially early in the programme. 1 winner or 50% in the specials with the other running 3rd. Our best each way was from Belmont so it was an abandoned meeting. A couple of nice first fours helped the cause. I hope your day was successful.

Hi again folks, just a brief one today as its simply full as the spring gets under way. It is a big weekend for the stable with a number of good chances.

In Brisbane I did think our best chance was Volkhere but unfortunately for Sandra and Gary, the bugger stood on his plate whilst walking, twisted the plate a bit and then stood on the damn toe clip. He’s a bit sore so whilst bloody frustrating, no point in risking a very good horse. I hope to have him back racing in 2 weeks.

Vaz De Torres is coming off a strong mid-week win but this is another ball game going to the mile at Saturday level. I have no doubt he will make the grade and the mile will suit later on but being his first prep, he might still need to mature a bit more. He can surprise me and win but he’s a risk in my eyes in this.

Bribie is the stables best chance on the day. Damian Browne back on top and gate 1 suits. The claim would have helped but Brownie rides this horse so well. It’s a good keen race but I reckon the grey isn’t bad value at about 4/5 bucks. He needs to hold him up for as long as possible and make a late run…Gets it right and he can win.

Tail And All has become a model of consistency and he’s bringing a lot of good times to his owners. Drawn the car park here but the claim can hopefully offset that. Mind you, Geoff will need plenty of luck to get in. The horse is flying so with luck, he can win and the $13 bucks is enormous value. No luck in the run, gets caught deep then hes no chance.

Vacallo has also turned some ordinary early form into a model of consistency. He can be a bugger fresh and the 1350 might just be a bridge too far first up. Chance though.

Magic In Motion in the last excites me. I have always liked this mare and I think she has a very bright future. This is not her grand final in any way. She may need the run but she will also need a good ride from Anthony. Quite a few with good reputations in this race so MIM will need to be as good as I think she is to be winning. She is sure to take a lot of benefit out of the run, that is a given. My gut instinct is that she will need the run at this level to bring her on.

Down in Sydney big Solzhenitsyn takes on Rain Affair and the powerful Waller stable with Boban. Both are going to be damned hard to beat and I am hopeful we have the big Russian as well as we can have him for his return to racing. St the $7 bucks. It’s probably not bad each way value!

The stables top mares are in the 1200 mtr Sheraco stakes. Realistically it’s tough to see them winning at this level over this trip. Further than the 6 furlongs then yes, I would be more confident. Fifi is on her way down South and Fillydelphia is on a bit of a ‘fact finding mission’ to see how she copes with it all as there are some lovely race options coming up for her over the next 6 weeks!

We have started trialling Hong Kong races for the next 4 weeks. I stress this is a trial only at this stage

Another tough day while the spring form starts to sort itself out with no result from our specials and only 7 top raters but plenty of trifectas on what was a tough day.

A pretty tough day in the end and happy to finish with 8 winners. Our 2 specials that won were both value and De Jersey was $13 in early markets fixed.

This race is on 12th October and Tony Vasils stable are very keen on the chances of Prince Harada. Could be the best horse Tony Vasil has ever trained according to the stable. Todays race may be too short for it but it is second favourite at $6 for the Guineas so if you like a spec bet long range it may pay to snap up the $6 offerred for the Guineas before it races today.
